Canon wanted a brand for a community site aimed at photography enthusiasts who wanted to share their work and pick up hints and tips around using a DSLR and showing the excellent results that can be acheived.
There are only so many ways you can work with the loveDSLR brand so we kept it simple but fun and effective with the heart representing the love and the camera shutter the lense
